Tips from a Multi-level Marketing Newbie.

Only a few months into this business…I feel that there are some glaringly obvious things that you just need to have in order to survive in network marketing. You can pay your up front fees and then wing it, or you can choose to get yourself prepared and get serious about starting a business that has the potential for massive growth.

Get a good ‘upline’ – Did the person that sponsored you into the company really connect with you? Are they taking the time to get to know you and YOUR goals? Have they asked what YOUR dreams are? Do they have a plan for your training or do they seem to just randomly throw info your way when they remember to? A good upline is SO vital. You are going to need solid training and motivation. You need to know how to sponsor new team members into your business…..sponsoring if the lifeblood of multi-level marketing. If you are not getting what you need, go HIGHER. Go to the top and ask what those people did to get there. You will find help and inspiration all in one!

 

Read like the wind! – I am absolutely LOVING every single book that has been recommended to me as a mandatory part of my training. Ditch the TV remote, stop playing the victim and get reading! You are in control of your own goals and dreams now. You will become a leader and you are likely going to need advice. My favs? The 45 Second Presentation That Will Change Your Life (Don Failla), Twelve Pillars (Jim Rohn), My First Year In Network Marketing (Mark Yarnell) and anything by Robin Sharma!

Know thy product – Sounds obvious, right? Jump in, use everything you can and become a product of the product. With my company specifically, Arbonne, this is an easy task. My skin has been transformed and friends and family have watched it happen. All I do is hand out sample packs and people want more. However, the general population is becoming very informed these days. You need to know what sets your product apart, why it works so well and what the benefits will be to the end-user. Study-up!

Learn to love rejection – My smarty upline in Toronto gave us a great analogy in training via Skype one evening at a team meeting. She said it like this: “If I told you that I was going to give you one thousand $100 bills and that if you could give them all away within one hour I would give you $10,000…could you do it?” At first I thought…yeah! Of course I could! But, think about it. People would want to ask ‘why’, to interrupt you, they might need qualification for why you were giving them money. Perhaps, some would even refuse, thinking that there was some ‘string’ attached to the offer. The same goes for offering the opportunity for multi-level marketing. You are offering people an amazing opportunity. The chance for them to take control of their lives and learn how to dream again. A home-based business that could change their lives. If they don’t want it??? MOVE ON! Don’t get offended….just keep asking! Thank the ones that say ‘no’ clearly and loudly…letting you move on to the next prospect who may really NEED that $100 bill and have the sense to recognize a wicked offer!

Believe and then prospect – Get your vision set solid in your mind. Why do you want this? What is happening in your life that you need to change so badly. What are your BIG goals? If it is 3 years from now and you and your team, family and friends are celebrating your huge success… what have you achieved at that point? If you do not have rock solid belief in yourself, your product and your business opportunity… you CANNOT communicate the potential to a prospect! Share your vision with such passion that people can feel where you are going and want to come with you even though they don’t even know all the details!

Get emotionally invested – Know your ‘why’. When you get frustrated and feel like you can no longer stand hearing ‘NO’, ‘Are you crazy?’ , ‘Are you involved in one of those THINGS?’ …you will need your ‘why’ more than ever. Stay true to the emotion behind the driving force of your action. Let it be your anchor while you drift through the experience of change and growth. You cannot help but be changed by this business and hopefully…if you follow my tips, it will be for the better!
